INTRODUCTION
Miss Galaxy Africa Pageant is a beauty pageant aimed at discovering elegant, poised and stunning women with exemplary class and features. It is a show that emphasizes on the eminence and aura of the African women.
BACKGROUND
- Beauty pageants are decades old
- America is credited with the first beauty pageant – 1921. This pageant was started by Atlantic City hotelmen as a promotional gimmick to entice summer tourists to stay in town past labor day. In America alone, there are about 700,000 pageants per annum. Pageants which have withstood the test of time include:
- Miss World
- Miss Universe
- Miss International
- Miss Intercontinental
- Miss Tourism.
- Etc
- Beauty contests have impacted in many lives positively, taking unknowns to instant celebrity status, among such are:
Agbani Darego a Nigerian who joined the club of world record holders as the first African to become Miss World and this has instilled so much confidence in the heart of our aspiring models, to break new grounds.
Oluchi Onweagba also a Nigerian won the MNET face of Africa. She is now a super model in America
- This great idea of Miss Galaxy West Africa Pageant is borne out of the Galaxy Pageant Incorporated, USA, as the beginning for unparalleled creativity for African women.
MISSION STATEMENT
The Miss Galaxy Africa pageant was created to allow young African women the opportunity to showcase their leadership qualities in other to become strong leaders.
VISION STATEMENT
It is our vision to have Miss Galaxy Africa pageant become a household name domestically and internationally.
OBJECTIVES
- To promote a cultural relationship among African women.
- To unite young African women by fostering good relationships through friendship.
- To promote self-governing consciousness and civic responsibility amongst the African women.
- To embark upon benevolent activities in Africa and the world at large with the aim of uplifting women values and concerns.
- To offer avenue where young women can grow personally in poise, confidence, goal-setting, public speaking and communication skills, physical fitness, and self-discipline.
- To provide a positive career and educational opportunities.
- To promote our sponsors throughout Africa and the United States.
- To discover and promote African beauty.

Participating Countries
MODALITIES
Step 1:
Event awareness via wide spread print and electronic media publicity campaign.
Step 2:
Participation drive via online registration and payment through designated banks and outlets..
Step 3:
A photo session and screening of all registered participants of Miss Galaxy Africa will be executed in the three countries. Screening will be undertaking by a team of professional evaluators that will comprise of Photographer, Fashion designers, Make-Up Artist, Brand Developer and a Modeling Expert.
Step 4:
Ten (10) winners will emerge from each country and proceed to Gambia for the Grand finale.
Step 5:
Three winners will emerge from each country, 2nd Runner-Up, 1st Runner-Up and the winner that will represent there countries in the United States for the Miss Galaxy World contest in June. |
